    It's a soft cheese - it should work.

    Definitely try it. I've only ever used some local soft cheese which is really thick and creamy. The Welsh goat's cheese is much softer and I think should be fine.

    Any soft goats cheese should work. There's usually a type that's like a small Brie and one that's more of a roll that is soft cheese. I agree that that would work - might even be better than philly which would be runnier.

    I am amazed I've never heard of this recipe!! Thanks to whoever bumped it back to the top of the list of threads!!

    i made some today but the mixture was really runny - i was careful to fold rather than mix so not sure what i did wrong.

    But that's quite firm! Did you add too much liquid?
