    Default Mixing of fats and carbs

    I see often that we shouldn't mix fats and carbs at the same meal. But I don't get why? I can't see anywhere the reason for this?

    Carbs trigger an insulin response, which facilitates the storage of fats.
    If you eat fats and carbs at the same time, the body will trigger an insulin response, store the fat and use the carbs for easy energy. It's just the perfect environment for the body to store fat.

    As someone who has read all the books, this is for me the single most insightful piece of knowledge contained therein. It truly does change your thinking and relationship with food.
    It is so deeply ingraines in the British way of eating - fish and chips, anyone?

    Thanks, that's helpful. Seems easiest to just avoid carbs.

    Absolutely. I find it much easier to eat fat meals. There is so much more choice.
