Re: sweet veg - I can never understand people putting honey on roast parsnips which are already sweet to start with. Weird.

    Welcome in our midst.
I also think that all veg is sweet, but this took a while...
Trust the process, the results will come

It's like my fellow Americans putting maple syrup or brown sugar on sweet potatoes. Why?

Er... Why eat sweet potatoes in first place? There's one veg I really don't get!

I love them...but I did grow up with them.
I find I can have them once in a while with no nasty repercussions.

Florallle I agree with your Mum. I have gone off carrots, parsnip, sweet potato (P3 I know) because they're so sweet.

Absolutely agree Sarah, pumpkin as a veggie rather than ingredient joins that list for me.

    Welcome!

Just start with any vegetables you do like, there is no obligation to eat loads of them. We certainly don't worry about 5-a-day around here (no evidence base) and have a lot of respect for the nutrient density of eggs or a good steak.

Very good point MrJDW. One of the reasons I liked THD when I first started it was there was no compulsion to eat anything I didn't like. Unlike other very prescriptive diets I'd seen.
