Thread: Skyr yogurt

    Default Skyr yogurt

    good morning everyone.
    Skyr yoghurt?
I cannot find out if it has all of the good squiggly's that live yoghurts have. It is made by Arla Foods but even on the website it says nothing apart from the nutritional value.

It is live. There are quite a few features on it if you google, for example:

Fascinating. So is the Skyr culture creating good bacteria?

And it would appear to have bacteria in it. See wikipedia. It'd be great if it came to Oz as I can't eat cows yoghurt because I'm reactive to whey, but most of the whey is removed.
Typically served with milk and a topping of sugar
doesn't sound quite as old Icelandic.

Having read the Wiki reference it jogged my memory about eating a similar product when I lived in Norway for 2 years in the early 90's. I just didn't put 2 and 2 together until seeing that similar yogurts still exist in Norway.
I am a happy bunny now. Thanks peeps for the help.
Looks like this could be a very HD friendly product going forward.

I don't think I have ever seen it at a supermarket! - My curiosity is piqued!
