    Hi all
I often wonder - why do we do what we do? We're only going to increase the price of meat, fish, eggs and dairy - why not keep it a big secret?! ;-)

Andreas Eenfeldt spoke about a butter crisis during the PHC Conference this year. Can't remember which countries were mentioned, but he did say that butter had become so rare in one place that a particular car manufacturer had actually starting offering butter with every car sale!

Prices here are at least 50% more than they were and I know that Lidl locally had absolutely no butter for around 2 weeks and now no longer stock the nice stuff they had with the Scottish Sea Salt in it

Butter and cream shortages and increased prices due to dairies buying up milk ahead (futures market) for cheese making. Why this sudden need to produce cheese and possibly stock pile I cannot say at present or whether it is worldwide.

Info was on the local radio (Norfolk) interviews with farmers and others linked with farming and dairy production.

Camel's milk is coming on to the market.

I use buttermilk powder in my bath bomb recipe and have only just discovered a real serious shortage of this as well. I can't seem to get it anywhere and where I might be able to, it is about 6 times the price it was before.

Have found a supplier and ordered some but they money hasn't come out of my account as yet so I am worrying that she may not have enough to supply either!

Butter seems to be becoming a rare commodity!
