The other day I decided I wouldn't have anymore chocolate. I threw the last few squares of 85% in the bin just to reinforce that decision!

    Hello Trish, How are you?

Sorry to read about your Mum and the knock on effect for you. Hope you are in a better place or getting towards it.

Thanks everyone. I will put it away until I have lost the weight I need to. I am strong enough for that. Just got to get into the habit of not having anything in my mouth. Goodbye Chewing gum, chocolate and mints. I am so determined now, Once I start losing weight it will give me the incentive to carry on. But my body needs the trigger, and that rigger has got to be a strict phase one for a few weeks.

I am going to my Step daughters tommorrow but I will face that when I come to it. She does serve up healthy food, but there is sure to be some carbohydrate and wine floating around.

It is difficult to explain how I am feeling about Mum. There is a deep down feeling of sadness and loss, but life with Mum was very complicated as she was a narcissist. I have been sorting myself out on that one, and at the end her life I had to be the one to forgive and to love. She never would have understood what effect she had on everyone around her. Long long story.

Also the hospital treated us all appallingly. And Mum was very ill for three weeks, before being discharged for end of life. It was during that time that the bingeing and eating wrong foods started. My body suffered and I put on too much weight.

Be kind to yourself over the coming weeks, let yourself heal. This you can do by re-visiting how you feel now and again issues around your mum and the hospital. Gradually it will be less painful. Loss and anger not a good combination, food at the time was a crutch now you are a point were the need for that crutch is passing.

Enjoy the time with your step daughter and she with you.
