    Congrats, Linda. That's excellent!

We ran out for a bit today and I picked up eggs & canned chili that Zo will eat. She's particular and isn't into just eating mince. Any protein I get into the kid is a good thing.

However, the other day we ran to our favorite almost-farmers-market store, and bought:

    mozarella cheese sticks
    milk
lowfat cottage cheese (that Zo will not eat, sigh, but maybe Libby will)
    heavy cream
    3 cans mackerel
    green tea bags
    grape tomatoes
    blueberries
    2 variety of pears
    apples
    celery
    cucumber
    eggplant
    granny smith apple
    green peppers
    zucchini
    bananas
    raspberries
    mango
    spring lettuce mix
    strawberries

Then I picked up some mince, tuna, and pickles (for Zoe) elsewhere. I get my meat about once per month and am stocked up (salmon, pork roast, beef roast, various chicken cuts). I love my deep freeze.

Up until just very recently, we'd shop at the big box store and buy a lot of those things listed, but maybe also chips, cookies, ice cream or popsicles or both, cereral , candy, pop-tarts, soda, and a lot of other etc. that's not at all healthy. Once I finished The Obesity Code, I stopped buying that stuff, and also purged the house of it. Had a nice heart to heart with the kids and just told them I'm not going to let them carry on eating unhealthy food. I realize that the fruit isn't necessarily the best choice either, but this is what we can do now.

I still have dark chocolate in the house, and will. I haven't had any this month, and probably won't, but it is here in case I want it. I let Zo have a square at time after dinner if she wants it, and sometimes she does.

How is the cat doing Christelle? Any joy with the raw food diet?

    Not yet Gilli.
He definitely didn't like the raw meat I bought, so the dog got that meal this morning. I have him off commercial food and at the moment he seems quite haply with the tuna I am supplying. Funny story that, I had 2 cans of tuna in the house which I started giving him and he started eating. At first reluctantly but at least he was eating. Monday night OH went to the shop and I asked him to please buy tuna for the cat which he did. Problem is I had tuna in oil in the house and OH bought tuna in water. Said cat refused to eat the tuna in water... I took the cans back today to have them swopped to 'in oil' and cat was happy once again. Last night and this morning he ate pork roast...

I have now ordered him raw salmon as one option and a turkey and rabbit mince as another option. The trick is to find what he likes, then it will be plain sailing. Quite happy that I have him eating real food, though

I know you're aiming for a raw food cat Christelle, but be careful in the meantime with the tuna. It's supposed to cause problems if too much is given. I find it amazing that cats...which seem quite close to their wild counterparts...can get addicted so easily to processed food.

My dog is more or less raw fed but my cat (I’m slightly ashamed to say) ate junk processed cr@p and died in February at the grand age of 17, having suffered what I believe to have been a stroke.
Embraced THD - got a way to go yet, but loving it!
