Default Cheese: Food of the Immortals...

    https://secretldn.com/cheese-protect...-says-science/

"Verily, cheese is the shield that can protect us against the slings and arrows of modern life, including stroke and heart attack, according to the European Society of Cardiology, which presented the research.

Studying over 20,000 adults over 11 years, consumption of cheese was associated with an 8% lower total mortality risk. Not bad, cheese, not bad at all.
    "

Apparently it's only fermented dairy that has the protective effect, not milk. It's also a meta-analysis, so it's almost certainly junk. However the first article I linked to (and quoted) amused me no end.

Thank you for the comic relieve, Hugh.
I'm not sure where they got the 8% from but I believe that it is fairly impossible to make these types of claims because there are so many other things people eat as well. Maybe some of the people that had died ate seed oils and cheese? This could have contributed to their deaths. Maybe the ones that did not die were healthy eaters, being careful of what they were eating and cutting out sugar as well as carbs? There are just too many other things to add into the equation.

Like you, I'm skeptic about this one. The first article was a bit of a laugh for sure
Trust the process, the results will come

I sent my daughter a couple of the restaurant links in Hugh's first link. They made her very, very happy.
I'd be too if I lived in London.

I feel so sorry for those like you Roseymary, who cheese doesn’t agree with. It does cut your options down.

Nice find Hugh. I love cheese and my aged mother survives on a combination of bread and cheese and whisky. Not sure whether it is the fermented milk product which has preserved her into her nineties or the distillation of fermented grains though!!

We’re in London in May, hoping to do Dior exhibition at V&A then Pinter revival in the afternoon - trying to work out if we have time to get lunch at the place in Camden, in between... might have to wait until next time, though!
