I don't think the article and the paper it is based on is telling us anything we don't already know and in fact may well be understating the problem.

I want to think that such bias is shocking but sadly it is anything but.

What I don’t understand is why otherwise reasonably intelligent people are taken in by the obvious bias in science. Do they really think that if it is a peer reviewed study it must be the truth?

The majority of research which is funded by an industry will be biased towards the funder, not just food industry.

And the peer reviewers are themselves biased by the same industry funding.
