A New Appetite Drug

I am with Sue on this one. If this was me earlier, I would have taken it as well.
To tell the honest truth, I took appetite suppressants when I was a teenager / young adult. The only reason I had stopped was because it interfered with the pill and pregnancy scared me much more than being overweight

Somewhat oddly though, the claim for this drug is that it is an appetite suppressant too but Jules’ colleague is indulging in coffee time biscuits at work. Does that mean she is only eating the biscuits and suppressing the urge to eat for nutrition? I do hope not!

Why do people never combine these drugs with healthy eating?

That's very interesting Jules - so the drug not only helped her lose weight, but also keeps her diabetes under control and allows her to have her drug of addiction as well. No wonder people are touting it as a wonderful drug.

Getting a bit of cabin fever now, and missing socialising more as time goes on, but physically okay. Family are struggling a bit, I think, daughter still jobless, son a bit wobbly (has anxiety issues). And other half not coping as well as he’d like to think. Can’t wait for better weather - health seems better in general, and we can all get outside! Take care, and be kind to yourself!

Reading Jules description of her work colleague, I'm reminded of my initial reaction to this wonder drug. Those who take it still have no idea of the how's and why's that caused them to gain weight in the first place. I saw a brief mid day telly interview with the comedian Marcus Brigstocke, who was once morbidly obese. He said this sort of drug would have done nothing to help him, primarily because it didn't deal with the underlying triggers and emotions...never mind the type of non food he ingested. His eating disorder was the extreme end of the spectrum, but this miracle drug wouldn't be the cure.

I agree GW but we have been told so many times that the fact that we are overweight is because we eat too much (and exercise too little).
So if I can get some help to not eat as much, I will take it (or would have many years ago)
