Can I have sugar-free/low cal drinks?

Sugar-free/low cal drinks always contain sweeteners (check out the sweetener question) and they may contain caffeine (diet coke/diet Pepsi etc). Caffeine will stimulate the production of insulin, which is the fattening hormone. Sweeteners will keep your taste for sweet things alive and they have no nutritional value, so they are best avoided on a regular basis and kept for occasional 'cheats’.
