Beef Bourguignon
This is a really simple version of the French classic. This dish can be done as a ‘cooking in a hurry meal’ if you have a slow-cooker. You can put the slow-cooker on the lowest setting before work and return home to a rich aroma and delicious casserole.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1kg braising steak, diced
100g bacon, diced
150g button mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, crushed
8 shallots (or small onions)
1 carrot, peeled & sliced
350ml red wine
1 tablespoon tomato purée
Salt & ground black pepper
Bouquet garni sachet
1 tablespoon corn flour
