Default Keto diet not recommended for heart health

    Sigh.

Whilst I don't eat the traditional keto low carb hgh fat, I do tend to eat fat meals and not be afraid of fat. In the nearly 7 years I've been eating this way my medication for high blood pressure has reduced from 4 to 2 tablets and the dose of one of the remaining tablets has been reduced from 32 mg to 8 mg. My arteries are clear as confirmed by a coronary calcium scan, even though my HDL and LDL levels have gone up, my triglyceride have gone down. So on the basis of N = 1 I just don't believe this study.

I lived for quite a few years following first a low fat diet, then a low carb diet. I know which I think is healthiest so articles like this don’t worry me.

Same here, Carol. I know what works for me, and because of blood pressure checks, I know how it affects me.

The lack of prescription meds tells me that the way I eat now is the right way.

A good guide, Christine. Though my OH has a fairly rubbish diet and no meds at 59....

the relly interesting thing for me that the Lipid profile improved including the lowering of the amount of the tiny LDL particles that are associated with heart issues . Great to hear Zoe's take on these articles

Zoe’s ability to cut through the rubbish pontificating and reveal what the data actually means is admirable.

    Thanks for the links Allan.
